National Rifle Shooting Championship

The district was represented at the Nation Scout Rifle Championship in to Bisley, over the weekend of 21st/22nd October. Teams were entered from 2nd Ifield Scout Group, 4th Worth Scout Group, 1st Southgate Scout Group Crawley and 5th Crawley Scout Group.
The young people all got to experience a variety of ranges and guns, with several of our members walking away with podium finishes, some with more than one.

Congratulations to Rebecca who took the Most improved Scout at 6yd Pistol trophy and Harry who achieved both First Junior Field Target and Most improved Scout at 6yd Rifle trophies.

The event also allows for the adult volunteers to compete whilst also supporting the young people and the event. The adults also had to work on the ranges and in the scoring office at times throughout the weekend. Several of our Network members gained adult podium finishes, congratulations to those who gained first places:

  • Courtney, precision shooters
  • Jasmine, most improved air rifle shooter
  • Harley, precision, 3 positional shooting (kneeling prone & standing)
  • Max (rim fire •22) prone shooter

As always, any event like this would not run without our great volunteers giving up their time to support the young people, to which we are as always thankful.
