1st Southgate – Hike to raise funds for animal therapy farm

A 37 strong group of Cubs and Scouts from 1st Southgate Scout Group put on their hiking boots for a charity as part of their annual summer camp. They were joined by adult volunteers on the 4.5 mile hike from Stanford campsite to Buchan Park and back. They completed the walk in aid of Chailey Heritage Foundation’s Patchwork Farm Appeal which supports young adults and children with complex physical disabilities which is aiming to build a new animal therapy farm onsite.

GSL Chris Hobbs said “We thought this would be an excellent opportunity for the Group to get involved in raising funds for the proposed Patchwork Farm at Chailey Heritage Foundation.  The 40 walkers raised £80 which gave their walk more purpose and learnt a little more about ‘helping others’ one part of the Scout Promise”.
