  1. We heard about Stanford a year or so ago, just as we were thinking of changing the venue of our annual Cub camp.

Keith, the warden, could not have been more helpful in making sure our camp was a complete success. We virtually had the site to ourselves, and it was wonderful to see the Cubs exploring the site and creating games for themselves, particularly down by the stream.

The main field was perfect for organised games, and we enjoyed a walk to Buchan Country Park for orienteering and a picnic lunch, as well as a climbing session at the nearby K2 Leisure Centre.

We have already booked again for next year – a perfect site for a camp.

  2. We at 2351 Bognor Regis Sqn ATC have just done our second camp at Stanford scout camp on 17-19 June 2011,
We couldn’t ask for a nicer place to be, even in the heavy rain (lol). The Beavers were there and we had some fun with them and look forward to the next tug of war challenge so we can get our pride back ( was beaten twice by beavers L and my cadets are between 13 to 18) still we had fun. And I would like to say how polite the were as well.

I would also like to thank Keith and Julie for all their help and to any of the other staff that makes Stanford Scout camp such a Beautiful, peace full and a welcoming site. Best training area that I have been to for a long time.

Keep up with the hard work and see you soon

  3. We recently held our first summer training camp at Stanford Campsite and had an amazing time!

We were given our own space which was really nice and nobody entered without permission, there were lots of different areas for different types of training, showers were nice and hot and keith and julie were super helpful.

All of the students are already asking when we can go back!

We will definitely be using the site again!

  4. We spent a particularly wet May Bank Holiday weekend at Stanford with 30 Scouts under canvas – first impressions of the site were fab as it was covered with bluebells!! Despite the rain the ground held up well and there were no problems with soggy ground. The toilets & showers were very good – remember to take toilet roll! We had a back to basics style camp with lots of firelighting, shelter-building and backwoods cooking – the site is absolutely made for this kind of camp with lots of wood available, lots of little clearings and plenty of concrete plinths to build fires on. The scouts spent a lot of time just roaming the woods, playing in the stream and tree climbing and having an amazing time! K2 climbing wall is minutes away and was excellent – there is a huge swimming pool there too. Only one word of warning – the access track to the site is rough so take it slowly! We had a look at the accommodation hut while we were there and are thinking of using the site for our group camp as there is plenty of space for beavers, cubs, scouts & exploders! A fab site – we will definitely be going back!

  5. Thank you Julie and Keith for all your help and assistance from booking the site to the end. All the kids have had a fantastic time, us Leaders never had it so easy and when we asked the kids what the best bit about the camp was “Waterslide” was the top of their list. This wasn’t even planned! Thank you again for allowing us to use it and it is something I will remember to use in my programme. This was my first time at organising and attending camp, never done it before and we were ever so lucky with the weather which made it easy for us. The Scout Leader has already asking to book again next year and would definitely come back to Stanfords again.

    So thank you very much.

    Best Wishes
