Poland Jamboree 2027

Crawley Scouts is proud to introduce the three extraordinary young people selected to represent our district at the 2027 World Scout Jamboree in Poland. After demonstrating exceptional enthusiasm, teamwork, resilience, and a passion for international Scouting, these participants have earned their place in this once-in-a-lifetime adventure.

Bella Abbott

My name is Bella Abbott and I am one of the three Crawley Explorers to get into the World Scout Jamboree in 2027! I am 14 years old and have been involved in scouting for longer than I can remember.

Scouting has always been a very important aspect of my life and I believe it has had a big part to play in who I am as a person writing this today.

I am honoured to have been one of the three young people selected to represent West Sussex scouts. The Jamboree is going to be a once in a lifetime opportunity as it connects scouting groups from all over the world. This is really important to me as since I was really little my Mum and Dad would bring me along to camps with my Dad’s Explorer Unit.

Once I was old enough I joined my local Beaver group and made so many new friends whom I would not have known if it weren’t for scouting. As I grew older I was a Cubs and then a Scout and now an Explorer Scout. I have learnt new skills and expanded my knowledge of all things scouting. I am incredibly excited for the adventures to come in the next few years and beyond as I fundraise, meet other explorers who were also selected, attend training camps and information evenings.

Being part of the Jamboree is a huge commitment but I am ready and excited to dive right in!
Harry Wood

My name is Harry Wood and I am very lucky to be one of the three Crawley Explorer Scouts that have the opportunity to go to the World Scout Jamboree in 2027 in Gdansk, Poland. I am 15 years old and I attended my first Scout Camp in Crawley aged just 10 days old (my dad is a Scout Leader).

Scouting has and I hope always will be a big part of my life. When the opportunity came about to apply for the Jamboree I jumped at it. Having been though the written application, assessment weekend and the final interview I was offered a place which I couldn’t be happier about. The Jamboree is a once in a lifetime chance to go and meet Scouts from all over the world and represent not only Crawley but West Sussex and the UK.

The Scout Association offers so much to young people and I have got a huge amount out of being involved in the organisation officially when I joined Beavers aged 6. I progressed through the movement achieving many awards and badges throughout the journey. I have made some amazing friends and I hope that the Jamboree will be an opportunity to meet many more.
Toby Foord

The scouting movement has been very important to me my whole life. I Join when I turned 6 and have been a keen member of 4th Worth Scouts and now Shackleton Explorers. I have progressed all the way through and now am a young leader as well as an Explorer.

I look forward to sharing the scouting values and understanding the key principles of scouting. It will allow me to gain an understand of cultures from around the world while still all sharing the same scouting values.

This experience I know will challenge to me personally. I will learn new skills both physical and socially and these new skills I will take forward with me in all my future experiences to come.
