St George being the patron saint of Scouting meant Scouts across the country gathered to their local celebration. Crawley Scouts gathered at Goffs Park along with Councillor Jilly Hart, Mayor of Crawley and Henry Smith, MP.
The event started with all the members processing up the hill to Goffs Park Houses, where we heard from Rev’d Jamie Gater about St George. This was followed by each age group, renewing their promise and being led in a special prayer for each section (Beavers, Cubs and then Scouts upwards).
We then were led in the National Anthem by Rachel, where we sang for the first time for the King. We were led given some information from those going to the World Scout Jamboree in South Korea this Summer.
