Although there is no longer a legal requirement for many things, as Scouts, with a duty of care to others and to young people, we recommend and expect the application of good hygiene and covid-safe approaches to all our meetings, events, activities and residential experiences.

Monopoly Run 2016 – Explorers

The London Monopoly Run is an event open to all Explorers, Networks, Senior Section Girlguiding and their leaders. The 2016 event was held on Saturday 2nd April 2016 together with over 900 participants racing around London seeing the sites and earning £pounds to win some fantastic prizes.

Participants enjoy a fun day in the capital competing in teams of 4-7 travelling via train, bus and foot visiting famous and specially selected monopoly locations. Nobody knows the locations until the day which adds to the excitement and anticipation!

This year Crawley District had a number of teams competing. In the Explorer category the teams were:

  • You Can’t Scout With Us – SRF Explorers – 17th / 142
  • Valkyries – Neil Armstrong Explorers – 66th / 142

A leader’s team also entered made up of Crawley District Explorer Leaders. Twisted Alarm came 2nd out of 41. Next year the event is being held on Saturday 8th April. Full details are available on the official website here.
