In Memory of Don Clements – Long standing member of Crawley Scouts

Don Clements sadly passed away last year. He was the Group Scout Leader at 7th Crawley when Paul (the current GSL) first joined the leader team as Cub Scout Leader in 1997 and from whom he took over the running and management of the Group two years later. He had stacked up many, many years of dedicated service to the Beavers, Cubs, Scouts and, at that time Venture Scouts in Furnace Green.

Stanford Campsite was where Don was at his happiest. He was the official warden there for a number of years and saw countless young people thrive in the energy the place can offer. The money raised will ensure young people will continue to benefit from all that the place can offer.

To honour Dons memory, his young grandson and son are putting on their running shoes again to take part in their first ever marathon. They were due to do it in April 2020 but Covid 19 has meant it’s been delayed to September 2021.
