District Youshape Event 2018

On Sunday 15th April, Crawley District Scouts Youth Commissioners ran the first District Youshape event at Stanford Scout Campsite. Over the course of the day, we had just under 50 participants from across Cubs, Scouts and Explorers. It was a shame about the weather but everyone had fun regardless! During the day, the participants got to try a number of activities including Archery, Rifle Shooting, Backwoods Cooking, Fire Lighting, Team Games and a Youth Forum.

Crawley Cub 100 Birthday Party – Celebrated in Style!

On Sat 18th June, over 200 Cubs from Crawley District celebrated the centenary of Cub Scouting in style. They met up with Leaders and other adults and friends at Blacklands Farm Guide Site at 8am, East Grinstead before hiking to Kingscote Station where they boarded their very own chartered train for the day. After a short journey South to Sheffield Park they spent 3 hours going round the Museum, Engine Shed, Shop, having lunch and watching a specially prepared DVD which covered the last 100 years of history, gadgets, aviation and Scouting. Winter Camp – Gilwell Park

7 explorers and 3 leaders attended Gilwell Wintercamp Friday 8th January to 10th January in all it’s mud and glory. Along with several thousand others! At Wintercamp 2016 they were able to try a huge number of activities including miniature tank driving, a giant swing, shooting, archery, crafts, quad bikes, go karts, laser tag and a disco, camp fire and cinema. Some photos of these activities are included below. There were many other activities too. The day and night programme kept them totally entertained.

New Facilities at Stanford Campsite
