We are pleased to announce that 3 Crawley Scouts have been selected to join the West Sussex Units as part of the UK contingent to attend the next world scout jamboree in South Korea in 2023.
In total, we had 22 applications for 3 spaces and after completing an application form and assessment day, 7 were interviewed before we decided on the 3 Scouts who would be offered this once in a lifetime opportunity.
Joseph (from 4th Worth Scouts), Thomas and Leo (from 7th Crawley Scouts) will be joining 72 West Sussex Scouts on this adventure.
As part of the assessment day, teams were tested on teamwork, communication, leadership amongst other skills by partaking in activities such as pioneering, tent pitching, cooking, camp fire sketches, team challenges and fire lighting. Those progressed to interview were then asked questions around what attending a jamboree would mean to them and how they would share this experience with Scouts across Crawley.
