Happy Volunteers Week, 1-7 June

Volunteers’ Week is an annual celebration of the contribution millions of people make across the UK through volunteering. Although the coronavirus pandemic has stopped many of the things we would usually do, you can still get involved in Virtual Scouting.

Over the last 12 weeks, our volunteers have been running virtual meetings using Zoom. From Escape rooms to Scavenger Hunts and Quizes, a large number of groups have come up with engaging programmes at short notice to bring some normality to over 800 young members lives. We are truly grateful for all of our leaders as without their deication; there would not be any Scouting.

If you would like to get involved, please do look through our volunteer vacancies and get in touch.

Some of the leadership team at 2nd Ifield Scout Group have also shared what being a member of Scouts means to them. They will be releasing these throughout the week but for convenience we have included those released so far below.

Young people first: Safeguarding and Safety in Scouting
