St George

St George being the patron saint of Scouting, Scouts see this as an important celebration.

2nd Ifield Scout Group started by joining others throughout the district, county and country in clapping for the carers as Scouts. It is estimated that about 100 members from the group were out on Thursday 23 April, St George’s Day, to offer our thanks to the NHS staff and other key workers.

On the nearest Sunday to 23 April, St George’s Day, Scouts in the UK hath gathered to renew their promise. Unfortunately with the current social distancing, we could not gather together. The group organised a Celebration of St George with an on-line renewal of promises.

Although with major technical issues, 2nd Ifield managed to get a full service on-line, and everyone renewed their promises, below is a recording of the celebration.
