World Scout Jamboree 2015 – Japan

In a few days times, the West Sussex Contingent will fly over to Japan to take part in the 23rd World Scout Jamboree joining 4,000 Scouts and Guides from across the UK in Kirara-hama, Japan for the 23rd World Scout Jamboree. The World Scout Jamboree is a gathering of tens of thousands of Scouts and Guides from almost every country in the world who, for ten days live together, experience each others cultures, take part in exciting activities and have an amazing adventure.

The first World Scout Jamboree took place in London in 1920 and has continued since, always uniting Scouts and Guides with messages of peace and global understanding.

They will take part in a varied and action packed programme including:

  • Peace Programme
  • Global Development Village
  • Exploring Nature
  • Cultural Discovery
  • City of Science
  • Community Services
  • Water Activities
