Explorer Scouts Honoured

Explorer Scouts from Crawley joined Explorers from the across West Sussex at the presentation event in honour of their achievements. They were joined by Sir Brian Barttelet, West Sussex Scout President, Bob Burgess, former Mayor of Crawley and now a member of West Sussex Scout Executive and Ian Newbery, Regional Commissioner for the South East of England for the Scout Association.

Alex, David, Daniel, Karl, Jamie and Hannah were presented with their Chief Scout Gold Award. To complete the Gold award scouts have to complete an number of challenges including: Creative, Adventure, Expedition, Expedition, Fitness, Global, Outdoor, Outdoor Plus, Promise and Community Challenges

Matthew was presented with his Chief Scout Platinum award. To complete this Matthew had to complete his D of E Bronze award and complete two challenges from International, Environment and Values activities.

Sam and Ania were presented with their Chief Scout Diamond award. Having completed their Silver D of E award they had to complete two more challenges from International, Environment and Values activities.

The event was concluded with Abigail, Matthew and Sam being presented with their Young Leader’s Belt Buckle. The buckle is presented once a young leader completes all their training whilst helping with a younger section within the Scout movement
