District Camp 2014

Over the weekend of Friday 20th to Sunday 22nd June 2014, 300 members of Crawley District Scouts covering all ages from 6 upwards camped at the 50 year old site in Pease Pottage with another 300 Scouts plus family turning up for the Activity Day on Saturday. The weekend was primarily to celebrate the 50th Birthday of Scouting on the site and included a full day of activities (see below), a film show in the evening and a Camp Fire before a spectacular Fireworks Display in the evening.

On the Sunday, there was a Service in the outside chapel where we reflected on 100 years from the start of World War One with Songs, Prayers and sketches involving some of the Scout Groups and Leaders. A hike and wide range of games completed the day before the closing ceremony.

As you can imagine an event like this cannot happen without a huge amount of support so a big thank you goes to all the adult helpers and leaders and some devoted parents who all took turns to help through the weekend so the Children could have such a memorable weekend.
