We are looking for someone with the energy and enthusiasm to lead and manage 2nd Ifield Scout Group. We call this role a Group Scout Leader (GSL). A GSL is a volunteer manager in Scouting responsible for enthusing, inspiring and leading the adults in the Scout Group, providing them with effective support and good leadership.

  • We are looking for someone who wants to make a difference in their community, someone who has enthusiasm and enjoys working with adults.
  • Do you have the ability to motivate others?
  • Do you know someone who could help this Scout Group grow so that more young people get the opportunity to enjoy the adventure of Scouting?

You will know that you’re making a difference to local young people by ensuring the quality of their Scouting is high. You will be working with a team of adults to ensure events are safe and well planned. The soft people skills that you will use as a GSL can enhance your CV. It’s a great way to demonstrate to prospective employers that you have valuable skills. Even if you know nothing about the Scouts, that’s no problem. We’ll teach you everything you need to know and we have a fantastic induction and training scheme.
