National Scout Shooting Championships 2015

40 members from Crawley District including Scouts, Explorers, Network, Scout Active Support, Leaders and Shooting Instructors have recently returned from the National Scout Shooting Competition at Bisley (16th Oct to 18th Oct). This year there were over 800 Scouts partaking in the competition which consists of:

  • Air Rifle at 6 yards, using highly accurate pre-charged air rifles
  • Air Pistol at 6 yards, using highly accurate pre-charged air pistols
  • Field target air rifle
  • Reactive target air rifle knock-out

In addition to these four main events, a number of Crawley District partook in additional shooting competitions including:

  • The Summer Biathlon & ISSF Target Sprint (Run and Shoot)
  • Small-bore rifle at 25 yards
  • Full bore rifle at 300 yards
  • Standing Air Rifle at 10 metres (“Sporter” and “Open” classes)
  • Three-position (Prone, Standing & Kneeling) Air Rifle at 10 metres
  • Vintage Air Rifle
  • Own Rifle (“Spring-gun” type) at 6 yards
  • Own Pistol
  • Advanced Field Target

An impressive number of trophies and medals were won between the Crawley District competitors as listed below. Congratulations to all of those who won awards and keep up the hard work training for future years as we have come a long way in the last few years!   • Under 12 – 6yrd Pistol – Amber Berreen – Silver Medal
  • Under 12 – 6yrd Rifle – Amber Berreen – Gold Medal
  • Senior Connaught Team – Connaugh Launchbury, Liam Spriggs and Joe Fox – Bronze Medal
  • Sporter Rifle – Harley Raine – Silver Medal
  • Three-Position Air Rifle – Harley Raine – Bronze Medal
  • Full Bore Rifle at 300 Yards – Paul Raine – Bronze Medal
